Colombo/ Kandy Duration: 4 Days/3 Nights Travel to Colombo and Kandy, these 2 cities, will offers you an opportunity to relish the splendor of this "green pearl" the busting capital of medieval times of the Indian Ocean. Colombo, the popping capital of Sri Lanka is a trail of development under the Western Rules. Today Colombo is a main political, economical and cultural center of Sri Lanka. Exquisite boulevard and elevated edifices are the treasures of the colonization, transforming Colombo in to a remarkable capital. On the other hand in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, there perched Kandy, the capital of the last kingdom of Sri Lanka. Kandy was the seat of power of the Singhala kingdom, the Buddhist and Singhala traditions still embellish its atmosphere. Day 1: Arrive at Colombo On arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, 30 km north of Colombo you will be received by our representative with a warm welcome. There after you are driven to the hotel through the way, enjoying the Negombo scenery while approaching Colombo. Over night stay at the hotel. Day 2: Colombo - Kandy After relishing a typical mouth watering Sri Lankan breakfast, you are taken to Kandy and on route visit a spice garden in Mawanella to enjoy diverse variety of spices for which Sri Lanka is renowned for. Enjoy the lunch at a local restaurant. In afternoon you will arrive in Kandy, get refresh to explore some ecstatic moments in the hill region. Take a cruiser in the picturesque Kandy Lake built by the last Sinhala King Wickrama Rajasinghe in 1798 and also visit the nearby bazaar, the art / craft center, a gem museum and lapidary. Later on you will visit to the spectacular Peradeniya Botanical Gardens and wonder at the ethereal accumulation of orchids, ornamental plants, spice plants palm trees and much more. Also drive to the famous Temple of the Tooth Relic. Evening has lot more in its store for you, engross yourself in a cultural show depicting traditional Sri Lanka dances like Kandyan dance, and devil dance or other up-country dances. You are then back in your hotel for dinner and overnight stay. Day 3: Kandy - Colombo At the break of dawn, have your breakfast and then start on a cruise, overland to Colombo. In Colombo you will reveal many meritorious sights. Visit the magnificent fort, the fort complex houses the colonial legacies. Major attraction of the fort is a 100-year-old clock tower and several British constructed colonial structures, the old Parliament in fort, a Hindu and Buddhist shrines preserving the ancient world zest amidst the foray of architectural monuments and modernity. You will also enjoy the surroundings of the Cinnamon Gardens. Day 4: Depart Colombo After breakfast, you are transferred to the Bandaranaike International Airport for your departure flight. While way back enjoy the glimpse of the palatial residences of the wealthy section. Go for bargain shopping at Pettah, the shopping hub of Colombo.
